Alice Caroline Block of the Month Quilt 2021–2022

This hand-sewn quilt was made by Rachel D’Ambrosio during 2021 and 2022, using an Alice Caroline Block of the Month programme. Rather than using the original paper templates, Rachel worked with Hexiform pieces to create the quilt.Rachel chose not to follow the suggested colourway, instead saving all twelve months of the Block of the Month fabrics before stitching the quilt over a period of three months. She rearranged and swapped many of the fabrics to create a layout that felt more personal to her.The quilt is backed with a purple floral Liberty fabric and has been professionally long-arm quilted. Measuring 66.5 inches x 74.5 inches, it is a quilt Rachel loved from the moment she began making it, enjoying every stage of its creation. The finished long-arm quilting and Liberty backing made the completed quilt even more delightful.
