Lucy Boston “Patchwork of Crosses” Quilt, 2021-2023

This intricate hand sewn quilt was created by Rachel D’Ambrosio and consists of 30 decorative blocks based on the classic Lucy Boston “Patchwork of Crosses” design. The quilt was constructed from a Sew and Quilt Block of the Month program, with Rachel choosing to use Hexiform templates in place of traditional paper pieces to achieve a soft, padded finish.The piece is backed with luxurious Liberty fabric and has been professionally long arm quilted to enhance the detailed patchwork. Measuring 75 inches x 64 inches, it is a stunning example of precision fussy cutting and modern English Paper Piecing techniques.
