The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital Brighton

THE ROYAL ALEX CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

We had the absolute honour of being invited by the hospital teachers to visit the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton for a day of creativity, culture and community! The Sew Happy Quilters' Association (SHQA) team spent an incredible day teaching the wonderful NHS staff the art of Siddi Quilting and Appliqué. It was a joy to work alongside the dedicated staff who provide vital education and wellbeing support to children on the wards and in the hospital school.

The creativity didn't stop there! Our team will soon be assembling the beautiful blocks sewn by the children into stunning quilts.

To ensure the quilting journey continues long after our visit, the SHQA was proud to donate a complete sewing set to the hospital teachers. We can’t wait to see what the children create next!
