This striking "crazy string" patchwork quilt was made by Eula Koyawena, a member of the Hopi tribe from Second Mesa, Arizona. The quilt is finished using a traditional tied method, where the layers are secured with individual knots rather than continuous stitching lines, a technique that adds distinct texture to the piece.Measuring 31 inches x 38 inches, this American quilt was created in 2011. It was purchased by SHQA in 2024 from the Brass Armadillo Antique Mall in Phoenix, Arizona.
