Made in 2022 this hand-sewn Lucy Boston “Patchwork of Crosses” quilt was made by Rachel D’Ambrosio and contains 24 intricate blocks. It was created from a Sew and Quilt Block of the Month programme, with Rachel replacing the traditional paper templates with Hexiform pieces. The quilt is backed with Liberty fabric and has been professionally long-arm quilted.Measuring 73.5 inches x 43 inches, this is Rachel’s third Patchwork of Crosses quilt. In fact, she always has one in progress, reflecting her lasting enjoyment of this distinctive design.Rachel is especially inspired by the story of Lucy Boston, whose creative life and quilting legacy she finds deeply motivating. This connection makes the Patchwork of Crosses pattern a particularly meaningful and much loved part of her own quilting journey.
